MM-2PW – Microprocessor-based methane meter

The MM-2PW methane meter is an instrument designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in the mine atmosphere. It is equipped with a dual-band detector that allows measurement in the range of 0-100% CH4. Switching of measuring ranges is controlled by a microprocessor system, which also provides two-way communication with the surface station and controls the implementation of power outages in the protected area.

The methane meter is adapted to be powered from the surface through the lines of the MZT-8/50V module or can be powered from an underground power supply unit with appropriate parameters. A battery of accumulators, built into the methane meter, allows the instrument to work in case of loss of primary power supply.

The MM-2PW methane meter, unlike the MM-2P, is characterized by a measuring chamber mechanically separated from the methane meter system and equipped with a special connector. The measuring chamber can be mounted directly to the methane meter system.

Features of the device:

  • high measurement accuracy
  • short response time of the methane meter
  • reading of the result on the local display
  • corrosion- and shock-resistant housing
  • calibration by means of built-in or attached keyboard
  • protection of the measuring chamber from dirt and moisture with a special filter
  • Measurement range: Low concentrations:
    - primary 0÷2.5% CH4,
    - secondary 2.5÷5.0% CH4,
