RPG-1 – Hand-held gas gauge

The hand-held gas gauge RPG-1 is a battery-powered portable device for measuring atmospheric parameters in hazardous areas. The device is manufactured in versions for measuring concentrations of gases contained in the atmosphere (methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, carbon monoxide or hydrogen sulfide) or for measuring temperature, relative humidity and absolute pressure. The place of application is underground mine workings or industrial facilities where there is an explosion hazard. The instrument has a sealed housing (IP-67) made of plastic with antistatic properties. The measurement can be carried out with semiconductor, pellistor, infrared or electrochemical sensors. The device is powered by an internal lithium-ion battery, which is charged outside the hazardous area. Charging can be carried out through a connector in the enclosure from an intrinsically safe 12V source or in contactless technology using a dedicated inductive charger.

The RPG-1 instrument allows measurement data exchange with PC software via RS485 bus or wirelessly in the 2.4GHz band. The wireless design of the device is characterized by the absence of any contact elements in the housing, which increases the durability and safety of the construction. Presentation of the measurement result is realized on the OLED display. Alarm functions use LED signaling, a sound signal and an optional vibration alarm.
